Data-driven performance insights for athletes and coaches

We combine sensor data, video analysis and subjective metrics to improve training, reduce injuries, and support well-being.

Advancing athlete load management

At uni software plus GmbH, we are dedicated to advancing data-driven solutions for sports performance and injury prevention. Our Data Driven Coaching project focuses on developing key ratios to assess athlete workload, ensuring optimal training intensity and minimizing injury risks. By integrating sensor-based data, self-reported metrics, and video analysis, we provide a comprehensive approach to load monitoring in youth and amateur sports.

A holistic approach to load management

Understanding and managing an athlete’s physical load is crucial for long-term performance and injury prevention. The Data Driven Coaching project brings together multiple data sources:

Key data sources

Wearable sensor data

Capturing movement patterns, jump counts, and intensity levels.

Self-reported metrics

Tracking sleep, stress, nutrition, and perceived exertion.

Video analysis

Identifying movement patterns and game-specific workload through Balltime, an AI-powered video analysis platform for volleyball.

This holistic combination of data sources allows trainers and physiotherapists to monitor workload, prevent overtraining, and personalize training programs based on objective and subjective indicators.

Scientific research & practical application

In collaboration with trainers, physiotherapists, and sports scientists, we conducted extensive research to:

Define key workload indicators relevant for athlete development and injury prevention.
Evaluate sensor technology to ensure precise and accessible data collection.
Develop a structured data model that integrates multiple sources into meaningful performance insights.

Shaping the future of athlete performance monitoring

The Data Driven Coaching project lays the foundation for a data-informed approach to training management, helping coaches and athletes make smarter, evidence-based decisions.

As uni software plus GmbH moves forward, we are looking for partners to:

Further develop our innovative methodology.
Implement data-driven load management in real-world training settings.
Ensure athlete well-being remains at the core of performance optimization.

Our partners

We are proud to collaborate with Borg Perg and the Mühlviertel Volleys, two committed partners who actively contribute to bringing data-driven training concepts into real-world practice.
